How to become and stay fit and well

It seems like everyone is trying to lose weight these days.
In the age sitting, increased inactivity fast food and no so fast but equally unhealthy food we are losing the battle.
I would like to share strategies that work and will help you achieve your ultimate weight and health goals.
* Happy thoughts
* Get moving
* Eat better
* Sleep and rest plenty
* Listen to your body and be happy
Happy Thoughts
The health and the body that you have now are direct result of your past actions. Your future body and wellness are shaped by your current thoughts and actions.
Start thinking thinking positive thoughts – visualize your body the way you want it to be. 10 pounds lighter? No more achy knees and lower back? Do you simply want to go up the stairs and not feel winded?
Whatever your goal is – get it clear in your mind and think of it as if you already achieved it.
The switch in mindset will help you to start moving.
Get moving
Think positive and start moving.
* Find an activity that makes you feel great and do that (walk, swim, hike, etc)
* Get support. Find a trainer, a friend or a training buddy that will help you to stay on track.
* Keep your body guessing. Ask yourself – what can I do today to move more and feel great? Do that!
Eat better food
Our body is an amazingly designed machine. Like any machine that we know it needs fuel. If you put diesel fuel in a car that takes gas, you will destroy the engine – the car will not work for very long.
Our bodies are no different. So fuel it with high quality foods to prevent pains and make sure that it operates at it’s top level.
* Focus on unprocessed foods
* Replace sodas/juices with water
* Eat slowly, take at least 30 minutes per meal
* Put down your book, turn off TV – focus on your meal as you eat
Sleep and rest plenty
We need rest. Mind and body must recover from the day to day stresses.
Personally, if I don’t take a nap – I’m not a happy camper.
So, get plenty of sleep and rest. And always, always listen to your body.
Listen to your body and be happy
You know yourself the best, so listen to your body!
You body will always tell you when you need to rest and when to go all out. It will also tell you whether what you are doing is good or bad.
Listen to yourself, pay close attention and be happy!
