Can’t Afford to Workout – How To Let Yourself Go #2

One of the quickest ways to let yourself go is by cutting costs from your fitness budget and stopping working out all together.
No money, can’t afford it, not in my budget..and you do have a good point – gas prices are rising, housing prices are going up.. seems like all price tags are getting a bad case elephantiasis.
Quick way to save a buck? Sure. No more personal training, fitness boot camps, gym memberships, sports leagues… Hundreds of dollars saved! Right? Yes, but not really.
Half of all personal bankruptcies are the result of medical bills, a Harvard study shows.
Half! It is far cheaper to prevent disease and stay fit and healthy.
Good health is not expensive, it’s priceless.
What you can do about it:
- Save money somewhere else(do you really need that daily frappuchino grande?)
- Cut down on personal training session, see/correspond with a fitness expert at least once a month to make sure that your exercise program is on track
- Get a workout buddy
- Workout for free. Walk, jog, hike, bike, play tennis, basketball, play with your kids, climb around on a local playground, do monkey bars, swing kettlebells.. you get the idea..
- Join an exercise forum or a fitness support group. Connect with others going through the same thing as you are. Commit, get motivated and act.
- Start a blog about your weight loss. Log your exercise, nutrition and thoughts. Once you publicly declare your quest for fitness – you have no choice but to succeed.
How do you keep you fitness budget in check?
