10 Ways to Let Yourself Go & What to Do About It

Thinking happy thoughts is a good thing. I encourage everyone to do so, but thinking good thoughts alone is not enough.

To create a change, action must arise out of thinking.

Swimming in a pool of “I should be doing this”, “I’ll try that tomorrow”, “I should start walking at lunch”, and “I’ll call that Fitness Trainer on Wednesday”, is a sure way of letting your fitness and health go.

Tomorrow when you actually do something, never comes and much time is wasted.

If you’re saying “I should be working out” today, there is a good chance that you’ve been saying it a month ago. You could have been a different person in a month. Think about that.

What to do:

  • Commit to yourself and your health
  • Pick activity that you truly enjoy(go hike, do yoga, jog, walk on the beach, join sport league, bike, train with kettlebells, do boxing). Ask yourself – How can I make it fun?
  • Start small(go for a 15 minute walk, park your car further away, play with your kids, choose stairs over elevator).
  • Make a promise to yourself and keep it
  • Ask friend to be your workout buddy
  • Find a fitness expert to guide you and keep you accountable(hire me if you’d like and we’ll start today)
  • Set reasonable fitness and health goals

What helps you to go from thinking to acting?
