Tips For Losing Weight: Harvard Study

Recently conducted Harvard study gives us great tips for losing weight.
This weight loss study looked at many different foods and how they effect us. Some foods help us lose weight, others (no surprise there) help us gain weight.
So, #1 tip for losing weight: stay away from sugary drinks.
Why:
- High in empty calories
What to drink instead:
- Water: yes, plain ol’ H2O. Stay away from sodas, juices, mochas etc
What is low in calories and will do your body good. As a result many unnecessary calories will disappear resulting in noticeable weight loss.
Tip #2 for losing weight is: stay away (or greatly reduce) potato intake.
Here I’m talking about anything potato – potato chips, french fries, baked potato, etc.
Why:
- Potatoes break down fast in our bellies and thus do not make us feel full for a long time. As a result we get hungry faster and end up eating more food with more calories throughout the day
Here is the good news.
These foods were found to keep us full longer, eat less overall and help us lose weight:
- Nuts – even though higher in fat, nuts keep us full longer. As a result we end up eating less overall. Less calories consumed throughout the day translates into weight loss.
- Yogurt (the plain kind) – same as nuts, it keeps us full longer and results weight loss
Happy and healthy eating!
